Pottery Short Course

Develop your pottery skills and creativity in three personalized, one-on-one sessions. You'll learn to create beautiful pieces such as mugs, jugs, bowls, and sculptures. You'll improve your throwing, hand-building, and glazing skills and learn about kiln firing.

Duration: Three one-on-one sessions totaling 6 ½ hours.
Cost: £200 (includes materials and firings).

What You'll Learn
How to create mugs, jugs, or bowls.
• Master centering and throwing on the wheel.
• Improve your hand-building techniques for sculpturing.
• Discover how to combine throwing and hand-building techniques to create unique pieces.
• Learn about glazes, how to mix your own, and how to use commercial glazes effectively on your pieces.
• Understand kiln loading and firing methods and cone temperatures.

Course outline:
Session 1 (2 ½ hours): Introduction, discuss your project plan and start making!
Session 2 (2 hours): Continue to craft and finish your project.
A bisque firing of your work will take place before your last session.
Session 3 (2 hours): Glazing, kiln loading, and final firing.

Additional details
• Extra top-up hours are available for further guidance if needed.
• Flexible scheduling on weekdays, subject to availability.
• Classes can be scheduled consecutively or weekly.
