Call or email to book a ‘Have a go’ experience day, regular pottery sessions, or buy a Gift Voucher.
Try out throwing, modelling and discover your artistic side!
The experience days are for anyone who has always wanted to have a go at pottery or for those who have tried it before, but would like to give it another go. Pottery can be both relaxing and therapeutic, as well as hugely enjoyable!
What you can expect
You'll receive individual guidance in a small pottery studio with all materials included. To ensure you make the most out your experience on the day, we don’t run big group sessions or joint experience days. So it really is just you and the pottery. You can have a go at throwing on the wheel as well as hand building with clay. Once your pots or models have completely dried out (this can take several days) they will be fired in the kiln for you. You can come back and collect them or in special cases we can arrange for them to be sent on to you.
How it works
Sessions can be either two or three hours long depending on what you would like to do. Three hour sessions will include a short break for tea & coffee. Or you can book a whole day: three hour morning and a further three hours in the afternoon to spend more time working on your pieces. All work is usually ready to collect in about 6 weeks and includes clays, glazes and firings – but excludes postage and packaging.
Pottery sessions are held throughout the year at our home studio in East Dorset near the New Forest. Maximum class sizes are four people, so its perfect for beginners and couples, with tuition that is personal, hands-on and encouraging.
The pottery studio provides a perfect environment to learn a new skill, participate in a new hobby or perhaps just somewhere to make a unique special gift for a friend ...or why not bring them along too!
What to wear and what to bring
You should wear clothing that you won't mind getting clay splats on however aprons are provided. All tools and materials will be provided at the studio. You're welcome to bring ideas or pictures with you of what you'd like to try and make. – Please also have short fingernails.
